Can they pull their own weight? Money is always a big deal when it comes to traveling. No one wants to be on a trip and be expected to foot the entire bill. Before vacationing with friends, qualify if all parties have an adequate amount of money that will compliment the kind of experience you all agree to have. Who will be responsible for the booking of reservations? There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into the curation of putting a trip together, and planning a trip with friends is no different. If you lack patience, not very thorough and detailed oriented as well as, don't commit to the planning of the trip.⁣⠀

Should everyone have a minimum amount of cash on them? The answer is always yes, as this is where things start to get murky. The sweet island of Barbados is set to reopen its borders on July 12th with the resumption of commercial flights at the Grantley Adams International Airport to begin as follows:⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀
July 12 - Air Canada (twice a week on Thursday & Sunday)⁣ ⁣⠀
July 18 - British Airways (once a week from Gatwick)⁣ July 25 - Jet Blue (four times per week from JFK)⁣ August 1 - Virgin Atlantic (once a week)⁣ August 5 - American Airlines (4 times per week out of Miami)⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀

Entry and Exit Requirements:⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀

Before you embark on your journey to Barbados, within 72 hours, travelers from high-risk countries, (including the U.S.), are "strongly encouraged" to take a COVID-19 test. Travelers from countries with fewer than 100 new cases in the last seven days can take their test within one week prior to departure. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀
All travelers are required to fill out online an Embarkation/Disembarkation (ED) card, answering health questions in regards to COVID - 19 symptoms. Once submitted, you'll receive a confirmation of receipt via email, in which you will need to present with visible barcode, along with your certificate indicating you are COVID-19 free upon entry into Barbados.⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀

Visitors who have not taken a COVID 19 test before departure will be required to take one upon arrival to Barbados and will be quarantined at their own expense until the results come through, which can approximately take up to 48 hours.⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀

Barbados has one confirmed case of COVID-19, where that individual is currently residing at an isolation facility in Harrison Point, St Lucy.⁣⠀

Barbados commitment is to ensure the country, it's people, and future visitors remain safe as possible as face mask are still necessary, mandatory social distancing has been reduced to 3 feet between people and social gathering limits has also increased from 250 to 500 people.⁣ ⁣ ⁣⠀

Travel Authorization Process:⁣⠀
Within 48 hours of departure, travelers must complete the Bermuda travel authorization process online at www.gotobermuda.com, which gather information for the island's health and immigration officials, a $75 fee is required, which includes the cost of the PCR Covid-19 testing in Bermuda.⁣ ⠀

Required Arrival Protocols:⁣⠀
Ideally within 72 hours, but no more than 5 days visitors must take a PCR COVID-19 test and obtain a negative result. This applies to adults and children aged 10 and up. Children who are 9-years-old and younger are exempt and are subject to their adult travel companion's quarantine. Test results must be entered as part of the online travel authorization process and be presented upon arrival in Bermuda.⁣⠀

Free walking tours - Why would you want anything that is free when traveling? After all, nothing in life is truly free right?!? Well, unless it's a free walking tour. When planning for a trip there are many things to consider and which travel currency you will utilize is one of them. We recommend three forms of travel currency while traveling. ⁣

Cash, Credit and Debit Card. ⁣
⁣
Cash - When purchasing foreign currency, cash is King, as you will avoid the additional fee that typically occurs when using a debit or credit card.  Large sums of cash should never be placed in one location. It should be placed throughout your luggage and in different pockets of your clothing. Once you arrive at the destination, you should leave the majority of your cash within the accommodations in a non-obvious place. If the accommodations have a safe, that is the most ideal place to keep it. Although we believe you should carry cash on you at all times, we personally feel cash is the riskiest form of currency to carry. When it's lost, all is gone. ⁣

Debit Card - One of the perks with debit cards is easy access to cash via an atm machine. If your card becomes lost or stolen, you can call right away and have your card suspended. If any suspicious activity has taken place on your account you have the ability to dispute it with your bank and eventually have them removed from your account. Be mindful, that if you use a debit card for car rentals and hotels, you may be subjected to funds being withheld from your bank account as a temporary deposit. In addition, debit card purchases may incur international and ATM fees when travelling abroad.  You must check with your bank to determine which fees you may be subjected to. ⁣

Credit Card -Travel credit cards are one of our faves to utilize when traveling. Many travel credit cards provide 3 points for every dollar spent on hotels, dining, airfare, car sharing services, and car rentals. These points can be redeemed for future travel or as cash.  ATM withdrawals can be made if needed. Certain cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve waives all international purchase fees. Like a debit card, in the event your credit card is lost or stolen, you are able to cancel it immediately and again dispute any fraudulent charges. ⁣

The day before your departure you take ill and you are no longer able to attend the trip at the instructions of your doctor. When you contact the tour company, they're sympathetic but you're not getting your money back, as their company policy states no refunds provided beyond 14 days of purchase.⠀⁣⁣
